Building A Brand From Scratch

The directors of The Dartmoor Ice Cream Co asked IPG to help build their Brand right from the inception of the business.

With a clear vision and an abundance of enthusiasm they worked with IPG to produce designs across all areas of their business.

Their strong logo was built around the illustration of the cow head, encompassing a sense of traditional quality, style and the light-hearted element of the cow.

One of the key aspects of the Brand Image was to be the use of hand drawn and painted images.

The signature Ice Cream tub was designed to carry the Dartmoor painting created for the company.

Each flavour created carries a unique flavour sticker that is also hand painted to continue the connection to the artwork.

The Importance of Colour

The Dartmoor Ice Cream Co wanted to illustrate their connection to Dartmoor with artwork, but also through the use of colour.

Taking the purple from the illustration of the moor they mirrored that in the lids, whilst the cream colour was chosen to represent their products.

In order to continue to reference the connection with hand drawn artwork IPG regularly produces illustrations for the advertising and marketing of Dartmoor Ice Cream. Many of these illustrations are then used in signage or posters to help tie all of their imagery to their Brand.
